Fiftyfabulous Knits – episode 9

What I’m wearing
Feel the Bern by Caitlin Hunter – a free pattern on Ravelry. I made mine in sports-weight, so had to go up 2 sizes. The yarns are all scraps of my own hand dyed yarn.

FO’s
Sweater for John-John with Estonian Braids on the yoke. I will write up a pattern, but it will take some time. It is knit in Drops Lima, color 9015 for the yoke and arms, and color 0519 for the body.

WIPS
A sweater to match John’s, made in Peter’s size. It’s a monster of a sweater, but I will finish it!

A new design; a hap shawl, knit in Knit Picks Wool of the Andes, the Mink Heather color.

And a new Half & Half Wrap from Purl Soho because I need one in lighter colors for summer! The first half will be Knit Picks Palette in the Blush color, and the second half will be my own Salt & Peber – one of my undyed bases.

Dream-crochet
The Solitude Blanket from ChiWei Ranck

Knitalong and more
I hope you will join me for a #KnitAndBeKindKAL. Let’s focus on kindness in our knitting, whether it is by knitting an unexpected gift for someone, by treating yourself to a new cast-on, by using your knitting-practice to cultivate kindness, or something else entirely.

If you share photos of your knitting kindness on Instagram with the hashtag #KnitAndBeKindKAL, or post in the Ravelry group for this knitalong you automatically enter to win the amazing prices below!

On April 21st I will draw the first winner and send out one of the prices for them – and we will continue the KAL for one more month!

There are some very generous donations for the prizes; please check out these talented makers:

The Urban Stitcher has donated a beautiful project bag.

The Lux Crafter on Etsy has generously donated some of her handmade jewellery,.

Knitwear by Maki has donated one of her project bags (you have seen her bags every so often on the podcast!)

Strik med Henni has donated a beautiful set of stitch markers, handmade with polished amber.

Thank you all so much!

HI, your feel the Bern is so nice! Mine was a failure and i don’t understand exactly why. Started the fourth size and took the right chart for it but on the end of the yoke it was the second size (…) LOL. I Will try again..love your podcast! Happy i discovered it. Greetings from Holland, Johanna.

I hope you will have better luck next time – it is a lovely sweater. But yes, sometimes our knitting will play tricks on us 😉
