English pattern for Happy Shawl

The Happy Shawl is a traditional hap shawl; a large square shawl, knit in lace pattern.
You first knit the center of the shawl in garter stitch, and then pick up stitches around the edges to create the inner border in a simple feather and fern. You finish the shawl off with an outer border; a lace pattern that will bind off all your stitches.
Unlike most traditional hap shawls, this is knit using a relatively heavy yarn. After knitting the shawl, you will block it rather aggressively to open up the lace and get a generously sized, airy but warm shawl.
